One important factor of student success is our Mentor Program. Mentoring is a broad educational program devoted to each individual, spanning academic advising through social/emotional learning.
Wayland’s intention is to assist and encourage our students to become serious citizens and independent young people, demonstrating the following values: Caring, Gratitude, Respect, Integrity, and Passion.
Mentors are the primary link to Wayland for students and parents. Students meet in groups and individually with their mentor to discuss many aspects of school life and personal goals. Mentors keep parents advised of student progress with periodic updates on Wayland life, personal learning growth, and advice. Parents may contact mentors at any time, and mentors will establish contact with parents at least every two weeks.
