Chapel
While the Academy became non-denominational in the 1930s, Faith remains one of our Four Pillars.
As the student body has evolved to become more global the expression of the Faith pillar has transformed to better reflect our spiritual diversity. The weekly Friday Chapel service serves as a weekly gathering where a member of the community speaks about his or her personal faith or about a particular issue of ethics or morality.
Mindfulness is an integral part of life on Wayland’s campus—with weekly Assembly (Mondays) and Chapel (Fridays) beginning with a mindful moment. Many teachers also incorporate mindfulness in their classrooms through breath work, short meditations, social emotional work, journaling, and gratitude practices. Wayland athletic teams also benefit from incorporating yoga and mindfulness into their training.
Wayland Academy prepares each student for college and beyond through a liberal arts curriculum and campus programs devoted to the pursuit of knowledge and the development of character.
