Wayland students had a blast during Homecoming festivities. Spirit Week competition included dress-up days, rock painting, volleyball, and basketball, which all led up to the pep rally and the Homecoming dinner/dance. Classes competed fiercely in the pep rally games—tug-of-war, musical chairs, knockout, and a dress-up basketball shoot out race. The class skits ranged from a depiction of Mr. Cleary H`20 and Mr. Michaletz's humanities class to a creative rendition of the chicken dance by the freshmen. The seniors came out victorious with 53 points! The point margin between first and second place was narrow with the sophomores finishing just behind the seniors at 52 points. The juniors finished the week at 46, with the freshmen behind them at 37 points.
Saturday's Homecoming activities kicked off with a Fun Run on South Campus which led right into a boys varsity soccer game vs. Brookfield Academy on George Cobb H`80 Soccer Field. The day finished with the dinner/dance where students were crowned as Homecoming royalty.
