Information Gathering

We may use your IP (internet Protocol) address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our web site by identifying (1) which parts of our site are most heavily used and (2) which portion of our audience comes from within the Wayland Academy network. We do not link IP addresses to any individually identifiable information. This means that user sessions may be tracked, but the users will remain anonymous.

Use of Information

Wayland Academy uses the information gathered above to tailor site content to user needs and to generate aggregate statistical reports. At no time do we disclose site usage by individual IP addresses, though our web site is hosted by a third-party provider which has access to the web site and the IP addresses of those who use it.

Terms of Use for the Wayland Academy Web Site and Online Directories

The following terms and conditions govern use of the Wayland Academy (the “school”) web site and online directories (the “online directories”):

Use of Online Information

Information accessible through the online directory may be used only for official school and alumni association purposes, and also for individual communication of a personal nature between members listed in the online directory. Users are strictly prohibited from using any information from the online directory for commercial, public, or political purposes of any nature whatsoever, or for any illegal activities.

Conduct on the School’s Web Site and the Online Directories

The following conduct is prohibited on the school’s web site and the online directory: any conduct which restricts or inhibits others users from enjoying use of the online directory; vulgar, obscene, or offensive language or images; abusive, defamatory, profane or threatening language or images; misrepresentations or any fraudulent statements; reproducing and storing in a retrieval system by any means, electronic or mechanical, photocopying, or use of telephone numbers, addresses, or other information contained in the online directory for any commercial, public or political purposes; any activity that might be harmful to the school web site or data stored on it, or other computers that are connected to it; and unauthorized use of any copyrighted or trademarked material.

Monitoring of the Online Directories

The school does not actively monitor postings to the online directory. In the event that a user becomes aware of any misuse associated with the online directory, the user shall promptly notify the school of such misuse.

Restrictions on Use of the Online Directories

The school may determine in its sole discretion whether a user’s use of the online directory violates these terms of use and may prohibit a user from any further access to the online directory.

The school does not represent or warrant that the information contained on its web site or in the online directory is complete, accurate or reliable, or that the web site and online directory operate free from errors or computer viruses. The school disclaims any and all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. Indemnification

Users of the web site and online directory agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the school and the alumni association of Wayland Academy and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all losses, claims and damages of any kind that arise out of your use of the online directory or the school web site.

The school reserves the right to revise these terms of use in its sole discretion. Reporting Copyright Infringements

In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, Wayland Academy has designated an agent to receive notice of any alleged copyright infringement occurring in the wayland.org domain.
