Visual Arts

With more than 10 art classes to choose from (not including independent study options)—you can stretch your creative boundaries in classes taught by Wayland's very own resident artist.

The visual arts curriculum at Wayland offers instruction ranging from beginning to advanced art students. In introductory classes students focus on the elements and principles of basic art making. Advanced coursework, like Honors Art and Advanced Placement Studio Art, build on that focus while introducing new mediums and allowing students opportunities to work independently on projects. Students are encouraged to show their projects on campus and community shows. A year-long Graphic Arts and Media course is focused on creating art on a digital platform. Visual art incorporates technology with the addition of 3D printers, a digital kiln, and digital cameras.
