Wayland's Speech Team participation provides an excellent opportunity for students to improve their public speaking, communication, writing, critical thinking, and performance skills. Students develop skills in eye contact, articulation, and poise, thereby enhancing their presentation skills both in and out of the classroom. Speech is also a lot of fun!
Students compete in categories that may include:
- Moments in History
- Storytelling
- Solo Humorous (story or monologue)
- Special Occasion Speaking
