At Wayland Academy, we not only believe in the core values of Champion of Character —Integrity, Respect, Caring, Gratitude, and Passion—but live these, day in and day out.

With more than a dozen sports to choose from, we encourage athletes striving to compete at the collegiate level but also create a welcoming environment of opportunities for beginners.

Being a Big Red athlete is more than just putting on a uniform; it is about a standard of excellence both on and off the field, court, or course, and much like the mission of Wayland, to strive to create better human beings.

Our athletes and coaches have received high recognition locally and beyond, and we have a strong and ever-increasing list of athletic alumni accomplishments.

We are a proud member of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), and compete in the following conferences:

• Trailways Conference—girls volleyball, boys/girls cross country, boys/girls basketball, boys/girls wrestling, speech, boys/girls track and field, girls softball, boys baseball, co-ed golf
• Badger Conference—girls swimming (co-op with Beaver Dam High School), boys swimming, boys lacrosse
• Flyway Conference—boys soccer, girls soccer
• Capitol Conference—girls tennis, boys tennis

Outside of the WIAA, we offer rowing, cheerleading, fencing, and powerlifting as non-conference athletic opportunities.
