Wayland Academy Presents, Museum
written by Tina Howe
Museum takes place in a museum of modern art on the final day of a group show of three fictional contemporary American artists. Throughout the day many people—art lovers, skeptics, foreigners, students, lost souls, fellow artists, and of course, museum guards—walk through the show sharing their perspectives and stories. The movement and yearning of these people tells the story. And, just as a painting may look completely different up close compared to being viewed from far away, the audience must take the play as a whole to fully understand and appreciate the wonderful commentary. Let the art transform your perspective on life itself.
"The gallery becomes a parable of humanity [...] [in this] comedy of absurdities with a serious message." —The New York Times
