Annie, the musical graphic

Wayland Academy Presents Annie—Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, November 6-8
based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray

Set in the 1930s in New York, Annie tells the story of the little orphan Annie who charms everyone’s hearts despite her next-to-nothing start. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago at a New York City orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. While trying to find her folks, she happens to be in the right place at the right time and is asked to spend Christmas at the home of billionaire Oliver Warbucks. At the outset, the man might be a bit stiff-necked, but Annie’s optimism warms his heart and makes a huge impact on the successful businessman. Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s machinations and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She finds a new home and family in Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a loveable mutt named Sandy.

Annie is the perfect family-friendly musical! Winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. It features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written.
