Alumni Awards
Wayland's alumni awards are presented to outstanding alumni at the annual Alumni Reunion Dinner during Homecoming Weekend.
Distinguished Service Citation
The Distinguished Service Citation is the highest honor that Wayland Academy can bestow upon an individual and is voted on by the Board of Trustees. Established in 1961, the award recognizes outstanding service to Wayland. Additionally, many of the previous recipients have manifested one or more notable attributes, such as service to education, distinctive achievement in a particular field of endeavor, and service to society in accordance with the principles and traditions of the Academy itself.
Alumni Achievement Award
Wayland's Alumni Achievement Award honors alumni who are deemed to be worthy of “. . . special recognition by the Wayland community for outstanding achievement in their field or endeavor. Furthermore, the Award salutes the recipient for representing the true ideals of the Academy and setting a living example of what a Wayland education is all about.” The Alumni Achievement Award is presented annually to an alumna or alumnus during Wayland's Alumni Reunion Weekend.
Young Alumni Award
Young Alumni Award recognizes an outstanding young alumni who is 30 years of age or younger who displays high levels of enthusiasm and extraordinary commitment or contributions to a profession, society, and/or Wayland Academy. Recipients must demonstrate dedication to one of Wayland's four pillars of Faith, Health, Scholarship, and Service and be setting an example of a Wayland education: the pursuit of knowledge and the development of character.
Alumni Volunteer Award
Established by Wayland’s Alumni Association in 2002, the Alumni Volunteer Award is presented to an alumna or alumnus whose “. . . loyal and steadfast volunteer efforts on behalf of Wayland enhance the mission of the Academy and the Alumni Association.”
