Congratulations, Class of 2025!
Commencement exercises will be held in Lindsay Auditorium on Saturday, May 24. Honorary Alum and Trustee, Pete Patterson H`12, will be this year's commencement speaker. Pete is the managing partner of Patterson, PC, a business litigation law firm in Houston, Texas, and serves on Wayland's Board of Trustees.
The Class of 2025 Valedictorians are Jasleen Bhandal and Toby Jungwoo Hong and the Salutatorian is Ssanyu Nambeguya.

Mr. Pete T. Patterson H`12

Managing Partner of Patterson, PC
Pete T. Patterson is managing partner of Patterson, PC, a business litigation and trial law firm in Houston, Texas. He is also the founder and former President of Capital Recovery Group, a real estate consulting business that served nine of the largest 20 real estate holders in the nation.
Pete received his undergraduate degree and double minor from the University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, where he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers.
Pete was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1990 and qualified in the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, the District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, as well as, District Courts in seven different states in the nation.
Pete is triple Board Certified in Civil Trial and PI Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Less than half of 1% of practicing attorneys hold certification in multiple areas. He also has an AV Preeminent® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®—the highest rating possible.
Mr. Patterson received the 2001 Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the 2003 President's Circle Award, and the 2022 Langerud Life Achievement Award, as well as, the 1996 PIP Award from then Governor George W. Bush. Pete is the Past President of both EO, the largest peer to peer business organization in the world, and ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates) the premiere legal association in America.
Mr. Patterson is a perennial recipient of the annual “Super Lawyer” and “Top 100” lawyers since 2008. He is also recognized by The Best Lawyers & Law Firms in America®, Houston, Texas, Litigation—Banking and Finance, 2024 and 2025.
Mr. Patterson has served as an Adjunct Professor for the University of Houston Law Center, and a guest lecturer at Baylor University MBA program.
Mr. Patterson has served on Wayland's Board of Trustees since 2013, and is the son of the late Raymond Patterson, Jr., class of 1940 and former Head of School at the Academy (1953-1970). Patterson House, the Head of School residence, is named in honor of his family, and it was where Pete lived during his early years.
Pete is married to Martine Patterson, and they have one son, Myles.
