College Counseling

Applying to college doesn't have to be stressful. We've got your back the whole way through.

The College Counseling program at Wayland is a highly individualized process guiding students through the college admission process in all of its complexity. The mission of the program is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and resources that will enable them to become informed consumers in choosing colleges that match their individual needs. Our college counselor is here to advise, inform, clarify, guide, encourage, aid, and support each student in his/her quest to gain college admission.

College Counseling hosts annual events such as Collegepalooza and Decision Day to engage students in thinking about college and to celebrate our seniors next steps.

Collegepalooza is a day in which everyone wears apparel to represent their favorite school—most often their alma mater—and there are open forum speaker panel sessions held to allow students to ask faculty and staff questions about the college experience.

Decision Day is a celebration day for seniors, as they mark the map with their future school's pennant indicating they have made their selection.
