Wayland Academy Senior Earns 3rd Place at State Powerlifting Meet

Wayland Academy is celebrating an outstanding performance by senior Ella Kikkert, who placed third in her weight class at the Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association (WHSPA) State Meet on Sunday. The competition, held at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton, brought together top high school powerlifters from across Wisconsin.
Ella Kikkert `26 delivered an impressive showing in the squat, bench press, and deadlift to earn a spot on the podium and finish third in her weight class statewide. Her performance caps off an excellent high school career, as she has qualified for and competed at the state meet for the past three years.
Wayland also had another athlete competing at the state level, as junior Albert Kim `27 finished among the top 15 lifters in the state in his weight class. Kim’s strong performance highlights both his continued growth in the sport and the momentum of Wayland’s powerlifting program.
