Ring-the-Bell Student-Athletes of the Week—February 13
This week (Feb. 13) we have a large group of Ring the Bell Student-Athletes of the week. Congratulations to these Big Red student-athletes for ringing the bell! 🔔
- Boys Basketball—Kaden Buss `23: Very often confused for Kobe Bryant, Kaden bus is the #BigRedMamba for his enthusiasm and positivity! Not only does he create new basketball moves, called the jump stop, gallup, euro step, but he also always supports his teammates, on and off the court!
- Girls JV Basketball—Hannah Pippenger `23: Hannah "Pip" Pippenger is a senior who decided to play basketball this season for her first time. Instead of just cruising through the season knowing she would only have one season to play, Pip worked hard and put in extra time to learn the skills to play. Her work paid off recently when she had an offensive rebound and made the basket which she has worked on during practices. Her work ethic and desire to improve her skills were second to no one. We are so fortunate and proud to have Pip on our team.
- Girls Varsity Basketball—Saniah Wright `23: On top of all of Saniah's energy and enthusiasm, she had her career high in points in a game last Tuesday! We appreciate her effort and attitude on a daily basis and are glad to have her Ringing the Bell for our team!
- Forensics—Maddie Clark `25, Kennedy Norris `26, and Genesis Garcia-Ruiz `26: This group made huge improvements in the last couple of weeks, and their play took 2nd place this week at our meet. They are always positive and willing to take constructive comments from the judges.
- Girls Powerlifting—Sofía Solano `23: Sofía had a great powerlifting meet on Saturday, she lifted heavy weights and represented Wayland with pride. More importantly, she was the ultimate "team supporter," always being there for her fellow lifters to cheer them on and support them throughout the day. Way to Ring The Bell Sofía!
- Boys Powerlifting—Cooper Ade `23: Cooper is a phenomenal human being who is extremely coachable and always does the little things right, so when it comes time to do the big things, he is prepared and normally has success. Cooper is consistently a leader by example, in and out of the weight room, and consistently thanks his coaches and teachers on a daily basis. Way to Ring the Bell Cooper!
- Swimming—Wesley Ingraham `24: Wesley was selected as the Ring the Bell student-athlete not only because of his great performance at sectionals over the weekend and PRs but also because of his positive attitude. He is always cheering on his teammates during their events.
- Boys Wrestling (Co-op with Beaver Dam High School)—Odin Nico `25: Odin technically could win this award every week, since he is our only wrestler, however this week he is winning it due to all the hard work and extra time he puts in towards his physical conditioning. He is one of the student-athletes that can be counted upon to show up on lifting days for early morning workouts to put in the extra work so that he is prepared to succeed. Great work, Odin!
Keep ringing the bell—personally, academically, and athletically! 🔔 🎉
