Boys Basketball Ring the Bell Student-Athlete of the Week—Bill Xue `26

Join us in celebrating these student-athletes for their continued efforts to ring the bell—personally, athletically, and academically. 🔔  🔔  🔔  This week's athletes are noted as being upbeat, respectful, enthusiastic, hard-working, powerful, committed, and invaluable. 🫶

  • Boys Basketball—Bill Xue `26: Bill was Ringing the Bell for all three levels of the boys basketball program last week. Bill was upbeat and encouraging with the JV2 boys. He contributed scoring, defense, rebounds, and passing in the JV boys’ victory, and he played mistake-free basketball when called upon to substitute for missing varsity players. Bill did everything the teams needed him to do.
  • Girls Basketball—Dalia Alcalá Olalla `24: The girls basketball #RTB Student-Athlete of the Week is Dalia. She is always respectful to coaches, officials, opponents, and teammates. She attends all practices, always gives her best, is extremely coachable, and has a positive attitude. While she works hard, she will joke around and have a smile on her face! Traits that are all vital to teams. Way to go Dalia!
  • Cheerleading—Mikah Agno `25: The cheerleading athlete of the week is Mikah Agno. Mikah is our junior captain and in the last couple of weeks, has had to take on more leadership and she has done so with enthusiasm and positivity. She is a total professional and talented athlete. We are lucky to have her on the Wayland cheerleading team another year!
  • Forensics—Dane Rose `27: Dane is the Forensics Ring the Bell student-athlete this week. Dane is doing an awesome job. He has been working very hard on his piece. It shows because he has gotten 1st and 3rd places in the last two meets. Dane's patience and hard work make him a super RTB team member!
  • Powerlifting—Ciara Jean Jacques `24: Ciara is a first-year powerlifter who came out with the idea of pushing herself to see how strong she could become physically and mentally. Ciara has continued to Ring the Bell at every turn, becoming a powerful human being in all facets of her life. She competed for the first time at the Germantown powerlifting meet and pushed herself to the limit, representing Wayland with great pride. Way to Ring the Bell!
  • Powerlifting—Osaya Sule `24: Osaya is the boys powerlifting Ring the Bell athlete of the week due to his phenomenal showing of strength at the Germantown powerlifting meet on Saturday! At an athletic, 175 lbs. of body weight, Osaya was able to clinch his spot in the State powerlifting meet by deadlifting a personal best of 560 LBS! Way to Ring the Bell, Osaya!
