Ring-the-Bell Student-Athletes of the Week—October 9

These Big Red student-athletes have been ringing the bell personally, athletically, and academically. 🔔 Let's celebrate them as this week's Ring the Bell Student-Athletes of the Week. Congratulations! 🎉 

• Cross Country—Mario Padilla `26: Our cross country athlete of the week is Mario Padilla. Mario is new to Cross Country this season and has improved with every race. This past week, he had a big PR at The Randolph/Cambria-Friesland invitational. Great job, Mario!
• Football—Alpha Sylla `26: Alpha is the Ring the Bell Athlete of the week for his hard work, positive attitude, and, most importantly, his studious nature of the game. Alpha is always asking questions, soaking the game of football in like a sponge. The more he learns, the more he helps the team—he is truly Ringing the Bell daily!
• Rowing—Gyle Mariñas `25 and Lilith Reusch `26:
  • Gyle is being recognized for stroking first novice 8 and keeping team spirit. 
  • Lilith was selected this week for stroking the bronze medal quad and working through the jitters of the big race.
• Soccer—Felix Meier `25: Felix has remained positive and focused while sidelined by injury, continuing to support his teammates. He has worked hard to prepare for his return to the lineup. 
• Swimming—Arim Lim `24: Arim has branched out into swimming multiple strokes and swims everything from 50 freestyle to 50 fly to 500 freestyle. She has earned many points for the team based on her versatility and willingness to try new events. 
• JV2 Volleyball—Siyun Park `27: Siyun has been on FIRE these past few weeks. She showed up big during this past week as the JV2 team collaborated on almost winning against Horicon. Siyun brought her leadership and increased volleyball skills to lead her team. She has grown so much over the past few months, and we are proud of Siyun to be the athlete Ringing the Bell this week! Way to go, Siyun!!!  
• JV Volleyball—Marissa Kowing `24: Marissa has been a voice on and off the court all season. She brings the supportive and cheerleading aspect to our team and, when people are feeling low—brings the spirit to lift everyone up! She has been focusing on her passing and back row specialty this season, providing dividends to our team and our team atmosphere. She is growing and leading our JV to excellence. Way to go, Marissa—keep ringing that bell on and off the court!   
• Varsity Volleyball—Montse Murillo `25: Montse is killing it as the front-row middle! She has the expert eyes and touch needed for her success, and it is showing. She has a level head on the court and shows her leadership with encouragement and passion. She is a force to be in alignment with, and we are fortunate to have her be that leader on our Varsity team! Way to keep up the great work and dedication, Monste! Keep ringing that bell!
