Ring-the-Bell Student-Athletes of the Week—April 15

Golf Ring the Bell Student-Athlete of the Week—Stewart Growdon `25

Join us in celebrating the Ring the Bell Student-Athletes of the Week for personally, athletically, and academically ringing the bell! Their positive can-do attitude, time spent honing their skills, and support of their teammates do not go unnoticed. 🫶🏽 🎉

  • Baseball—Ethyn Tallman `24: Ethyn has had a great attitude all year, and he is working hard in the box, on the mound, and in the field. He pitched one heck of a game last Friday (April 12) against Markesan and kept us within striking distance!
  • Golf—Stewart Growdon `25: Stewart is being recognized for putting in great effort during practices, doing his best academically, and spending extra time practicing on the weekends to improve his swing. Stewart rings the bell for the golf!
  • Lacrosse—Matthew Nguyen `27: Matthew works hard in practice, always looking to improve his skills. Matthew listens to the feedback he is given and works to implement this feedback immediately. He continues to work hard and has improved immensely from when he first started lacrosse only a few weeks ago. Matthew is this week's athlete of the week for his hard work, determination, and coachability. Way to ring the bell, Matthew!
  • Rowing—Ava Loppnow `24Ava rowed in three races Sunday—men's and women's quadruple sculls and men's 8. Any seat, any day—she is truly exceptional!
  • Girls Soccer—Carmen Rollán Martinez `26: Carmen shows true spirit, heart, and tenacity when playing fútbal (soccer). She works very hard to do the right things while learning the little things and then trying to go out and execute them. She also grasps concepts and is an extremely quick learner, taking and applying that information. Carmen has an amazing ability to read what is going on in front of her, process it, and react during the game.
  • Softball—Yurim Sung `27: Yurim is brand new to softball but did not think twice when I asked her to start at our most recent game! She had her first hit and made it on base. Yurim's growth in the last few weeks has been incredible to watch.
  • Boys Tennis—Yaroslav Bortnyk `24: Yarislav always has a smile and is friendly to the other players and coaches. He works hard to improve his tennis game.
  • Track and Field—Luca Roetter Gresback `26: Luca has been an outstanding leader this week. Even though he has been injured, he has been enthusiastic support of his teammates and has been teaching those new to the sport the ins and outs of running track. Way to go, Luca!

Way to go, Big Red! Keep ringing the bell! 🔔 🔔 🔔
