While there are many ways to make a gift to the Academy, there are two primary types of end-uses of the various gift vehicles:
- The Endowment Fund -- gifts to Wayland's endowment provide a permanent source of on-going funds.
- The Academy Fund -- gifts to our annual giving program, The Academy Fund, are essential help to bridge the gap between Wayland's operating costs and income from tuition and endowment.
Because the cost of a Wayland education, similar to other private schools and colleges, outpaces the revenue we receive from tuition and endowment, your annual support of The Academy Fund is critically important to bridge this funding gap
Generous gifts to The Academy Fund help Wayland enroll outstanding students who need and want a Wayland education but whose families can't completely afford the cost of Wayland's superb education. Besides helping to fund faculty salaries and student scholarships, The Academy Fund also contributes funds to athletics and the arts, and to maintain and improve our extensive campus facilities.
In addition to gifts to endowment and The Academy Fund, Wayland also receives generous gifts directed to augmenting and improving programs and facilities. Many friends of the Academy support Wayland's mission through the donation of gifts-in-kind. Finally, it's important to recognize the tremendous help Wayland receives annually as a result of countless hours of volunteer service that is unselfishly provided by alumni, parents, students and teachers.
