Annual gifts to The Academy Fund, no matter the amount, provide the wherewithal to make a difference at Wayland for students and teachers alike. In addition, to ensure the future of the Academy, many individuals have established endowed scholarships and program funds.
Did you know that tuition fees and endowment income do not cover the total cost of a Wayland education? Similar to most colleges, there is a gap between the cost to educate an Academy student and the income generated from tuition and fees. This gap in funding is in essence a "silent scholarship" for each and every student.
Each year this funding gap must be bridged by generous annual gifts to The Academy Fund from alumni, past parents, faculty, staff, grandparents, and, yes, current parents. The bulk of these tax-deductible gifts to The Academy Fund help to underwrite four essential areas:
- Continuing the tradition of great teaching.
- Maintaining the student body's quality by providing scholarships to students and their families who, without such financial assistance, could not afford to attend Wayland.
- Enriching academic and co-curricular programs.
- Continuing to improve the infrastructure of campus.
