Visual Arts

In the Visual Arts, classes help to develop the students' personal artistic styles, the students' artistic techniques for the different art medium, and the students' ability to judge and evaluate great art. Students are encouraged to develop their area of interest as well as try new art media. All students display their work in the Whiting Gallery for special programs throughout the year. Wayland Academy has a National Art Honor Society chapter and its own Whiting Gallery Visual Arts Series which features a variety of displays by students, faculty, and local artists. Art classes also meet with artists from the area and visit art studios and museums, and participate in art conferences and seminars.
