Health Education at Wayland is a comprehensive program aimed at promoting the total wellness of the individual. Topics focus on the quality of life. Decision-making techniques and coping with stress are two of the many essential bases that are covered. Students learn about the nutritional value of the foods they eat, the risks of cardiovascular disease, drugs and alcohol, relationships and sexuality, death and dying, and others. Lifesaving techniques such as CPR are offered and give the students an opportunity for certification.
