Wayland Hall Renovation

Wayland_Hall.jpg

Wayland Hall has been the icon building of the Academy since the school began educating young people over 155 years ago. Built in 1855, it was the first building on campus and served as the residence for all students and faculty, the academic building, library and chapel. Wayland Hall has undergone remodeling throughout its history; the 2009 renovation, however, was the most extensive, and encompassed a total rebuilding of the interior, creating student suites and new faculty residences. The exterior remained intact, although repairs were made to the stately pillars and the entryway.

Who has benefitted from the renovation to Wayland Hall?

Wayland Hall provides current and future young men and faculty with 32 two-bed suites, a guest suite, five new faculty residences, a recreation room, lounges and study areas on each floor, and laundry rooms for students and faculty. Wayland's Admission Team uses the modernized facility to retain and improve our competitive edge in attracting quality students. Wayland Hall has once again become the pride of all alumni and the boarding school standard for residential housing excellence.

Who has contributed?

Alumni, parents, faculty and friends of Wayland Academy supported this fundraising effort. All individuals who contributed $1,000 or more are recognized on the Donor Recognition Wall located in the main lounge of Wayland Hall. There are still a limited number of individual naming opportunities to recognize individuals who make leadership gifts to the project. All gifts are fully tax deductible.
