Modern and Classical Languages

The major goals of the Wayland Academy Modern and Classical Languages Department are to develops students' ability to understand a native speakers, or (standard dialects) at natural speed; to develop students' powers of oral expression using good accent and grammar; to lead students to the appreciation of literature through the reading and critical analysis of selected literary works; and to bring students into contact with ways of thought that differ from their own.
