Swan Library

Conveniently attached to the Academic Center, Swan Library gives students access to 21,000 books, 62 periodicals, six newspapers, and Internet connections to the state-wide inter-library loan system. Students who do not have their own computer have access to Macs, PCs and printers in the library computer lab.

The library is a space designed and laid out to meet the many different study styles of students.  There are comfortable leather sofas for reading, individual study carrels that help students focus, and larger group tables for projects that require collaboration.  Students can study by the warmth of the fireplace, write a rough draft in the large, open study area, or do research in the computer lab. There is even a large balcony overhead with a panoramic view of campus where students can settle in with their books and study.

Beneath Swan Library you will find the Advancement Office and the Wayland Museum and Archives. The museum is open on Family Weekends, Alumni Reunion Weekends and for other special events. If you are visiting campus and would like to visit the museum, stop into the Advancement Office and someone there will be happy to open the museum for you.  It features displays that showcase the rich history of Wayland Academy as well as snapshots and artifacts from over 150 years of student life at Wayland.
